About Allen

Allen Adamson is a brand strategist, author, and expert witness who has spent three decades building, managing, and protecting many of the world’s most recognized brands. He is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Metaforce, a brand and marketing consultancy, and previously served as Chairman of Landor, one of the world’s leading brand strategy and identity firms.

His career spans every side of brand building: brand management at Unilever, advertising and communications at Ogilvy and DMBB, and brand consulting at Landor, with engagements across consumer products, automotive, retail, ecommerce, technology, financial services, healthcare, and non-profit.

Adamson brings that marketplace experience into the classroom, lecturing on brand strategy at Yale, Cornell, Michigan Ross, and NYU Stern. As Brand Expert in Residence at NYU Stern’s Berkley Center, he works with entrepreneurs to shape their brand and go-to-market stories.

He is the author of five books on branding: BrandSimple, BrandDigital, The Edge, Shift Ahead, and Seeing the How. Regularly quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Bloomberg, CNBC, and the Associated Press, he has written a branding column for Forbes for more than 15 years and been published in various law media such as The New York Law Journal and Law.com.

As a brand expert witness, Adamson is retained by trial counsel in trademark, trade dress, false advertising, and related brand-identity matters in federal courts nationwide.

Adamson holds a BS from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
